Christine Larson, writer/editor "Don't wait for inspiration: You have to go after it with a club."--Jack London I'm an award-winning writer, editor and author living in Northern California. I often write about how money and the workplace shape our lives and choices. My work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, US News & World Report, More, Redbook, and many other magazines. I've worked at Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Adweek, and been a contributing editor at Working Mother. I've also co-written four books. The most recent is INFLUENCE: How Women's Soaring Economic Power Will Transform Our World (Hyperion, May 2010), written with demographer Maddy Dychtwald. As John Gregory Dunne said, writing is the manual labor of the mind. I've found the heavy lifting's a whole lot easier when writers work together. That's why I teach, coach and help organize events where writers share what we know about crafting great stories and making a living. This year, I'll be teaching magazine writing at Stanford, and following up on my Knight Fellowship project, where I launched the The Future of Freelancing conference at Stanford. Drop me a note to learn more about this or any of my work. Or follow me @LarsonWrites. |
